Less pollution for our children at school is possible. At the end of April, ten “Para-PM”: giant air purifiers, were installed in the courtyard of a Parisian school. According to the first results of the experiment, these devices actually make the outside air cleaner.
We often think about the quality of the air in classrooms. In the courtyard of the Victoire school in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, ten giant air purifiers clean the outside air. These devices are called “Para-PM”. Created by engineers from the French company Aérophile, they suck in air and capture 95% of fine particles to release purified air. A test, before the equipment on a larger scale of the Athletes' Village in Saint-Denis.
The 10 Para-PMs are turned on ten minutes before recess, then during. They can clean 10 m3 per second, the equivalent of the volume of 15 Olympic swimming pools in one hour.
