The La Poste Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur Group is part of the DIAMS (Digital Alliance for Aix-Marseille Sustainability) project and is equipping 300 vehicles with sensors to measure air pollution. This collaborative project, 80% financed by European funds and supported by the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, is planned until 2022 to improve air quality in the city.
How to measure the data collected?
The measurement of data from the DIAMS project follows a precise sequence. Three steps are necessary. Collection, analysis and action. After being collected via sensors measuring fine particles in the air, the data is analyzed by a digital platform to be used in an action plan shared with the project stakeholders (companies, communities, associations, etc.).< /p>
Following this logic, the La Poste Group placed sensors on its yellow vehicles to measure therate of fine particlesof diameter PM 2.5 during travel in the metropolis. (i.e. less than 2.5 microns). To guarantee the accuracy of the collection, the teams ensure quality control of the sensors at the entrance and exit of the car parks where the vehicles park.
