Covid-19: pollution would have an impact on mortality due to the virus, reveals a French study


Air pollution could have an impact on the mortality of people with Covid-19, according to a study by French researchers published in Science of the Total Environment in early August 2022.

Resumed in Le Monde, the study was based on analysis of the air quality of around thirty cities and regions in six Western European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) between 2020 and 2022. Conclusion: mortality is higher during pollution peaks and changes depending on their intensity.
